We should all tape ourselves from time to time to see what we're doing right and wrong. I'm a goalie who's been playing only 8 months, I've done 4 videos in those 8 months, each video I can see myself improving. Each time I record a video I review it, learn from it, and work on what improvements I need. Because I'm so new, there's A LOT to improve on...
I also love reviewing other goalie's video as well. You tube is a great resource.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHSdkbxjy2k - here is my latest from AUGUST.
I'm planning on making a new one soon.
Give me your thoughts, but try and be constructive obviously... We're all fragile ego machines. _________________

not bad, i would loosen your leg pads a bit if i were you. i dosnt look like your getting enough rotation on your pads. dont be so hesitant to drop to butterfly, it should be one quick motion. not bad tho keep it up. i would like to get some film of my self soon _________________ How hard would you play today if you couldn't play tomorrow?

I've done a lot of work since this video was taken. Currently training with Ron Veit, and right now it's movement focused.
Also the pads are a lot looser now for sure. I wasn't thinking before that scrimmage and didn't put my gear on properly. You can see my suspenders hanging down as well. One of the straps I was keeping too tight was my foot straps. Now they're loose a goose. _________________

If I ever got around to figuring out Youtube and how to edit video, I would PM it to the people involved in it about a year ago. If I put it on here I would get a bunch on non-educated criticism that would most likely be incorrect. Or just post it up and lock the thread.
Plus montreal, I have a thread dedicated to my video that R2MN made before he left _________________

, why not just delete any nonsense in the thread? You are a moderator now. All you have to do is
record your video
plug the video camera into the computer
windows movie maker should pop up
upload the video
when upload is done, drag the video thumbnail into the movie timeline.
cut parts out that you don't want ( play the video, the stop it were you want to cut. There should be a button on the right of the video boxs that sais CUT, then cut at the start of the clip, then cut at the ending of the clip, and drag that out of the timeline.
if you want music, just drag the music from itunes, and it should come up as a thumbnail. Then just drag the thumbnail into the timeline.
Then just save it
go to youtube
log into your account
then on the far right side of your page there should be a yellow "UPLOAD" button.
fill out the title and all of that
Then click next
then click browse
then find the saved video file
just wait
and the video should be on youtube around 3 minutes after upload is complete.
then just _________________

that synthetic ice is not easy at all, total resistance the whole time you move. which is good for building up leg muscles, but when you're weak, it makes you stumble around. when i get on normal ice i feel way faster though. _________________

Thanks Rene, I used to have a lot of trouble applying the bfly slide in a game situation when it became "read and react", but I've been improving steadily with it.
itechwarrior - synthetic ice sucks compared to real ice, but once you got used to it, you adjusted really well. It'll come with time, and there's already signs of improvement, so keep it up! _________________

the only thing i can say being a nube myself is you gotta drop into bfly a lot quicker, it looks like systematic right now like your thing ok i should drop down, then ur body catches up
then you kinda squeeze your legs together and then slowly come off your feet
but then again what do i know _________________
