excellent discussion and thanks for bringing me up to date on the current techniques and the theories underlying them. btw, I suppose in a sense I may have taken the thread off topic and if so, sorry about that.
ps135, you inadvertently unearthed one of my summer training techniques and that is the good old batting cage. I was never a baseball player in an organized sense except for 2 yrs as a little boy. I was lucky, however, in that I knew the operator of the local batting cage. Used to go there every day and the fella would turn it up to its highest speed so I could swing at fast balls at about 100 mph. Great way to keep the hand-eye coordination sharp. Handball and tennis are great for this as well.
My baseball player friends would always quote the famous Ted Williams that hitting a baseball is the toughest thing in sports. I responded by saying that old Ted never played net. _________________ old broken down end of the road goaler

So clearly the video of my sister has been causing issues. I'm going to keep trying to get it up soon, because it shows off her improvements and the new gear, which I find makes a difference.
I'm hoping she comes out to my game this Sunday to videotape, because we'll be playing the team we lost against before. That would make for some good footage which hopefully I can turn into a more recent video with the new gear |

Happy watching! Oh, and the glove save midway through where it was going high and she slid and caught it, I gave her shit for.
Feel free to point out any mistakes/ areas of improvement! |

I was so excited I threw together another quick one, from her summer hockey ice. This was footage from her first week breaking in the pads, so she was still getting used to the height on them (going from 29"s to 33"s).

As usual, all comments welcome! |

no real criticism here. in the first video, she continues to do a great job of going down behind her stick. to be a stickler, i suppose she can be taken to task for catching the fly ball from her knees and it looks like from the video the puck was going over the net. just let it go, to be hyper technical. in the second video, she looked a little uncomfortable in her new pillows but that aside, she does a real good job of staying set and just letting the shooters with their heads down, shoot right into her. she looked good to me. _________________ old broken down end of the road goaler
