| I really like Corey Wogtech's video. I especially like his teaching style. |

First butterfly shown - wouldn't you want the stick blade flat on the ice and in front of the 5-hole? It doesn't seem like it would do much the way it's positioned on there
The black goalie doing the bucket catch - is it just me, or is he leaning WAY over at the hips? |

Ron does teach to have it flat in front, I'm unsure if he didn't catch it or something? He wants the heel of the stick covering the 5 hole though, not the full blade. It's difficult to explain.
Ron Veit trained Carey Price, Dan Cloutier, Olaf Kolzig, and more.. yeah yeah insert Carey Price joke here, and Dan Cloutier for that matter... But he's a good coach, knows what he's talking about.
You're supposed to lean over when making the basket catch. Helps angle the puck down instead of shooting up in to the air. |

| No but I don't mean the actual catch - I mean his basic stance beforehand. Either he's bending over really far, or his pads are ginormous and take up most of his torso. |

Ok, perhaps he's a good coach but if those were my references I think I'd have to just say "I've trained a lot of great CHL goalies." Who the hell is the "and more" Chris Osgood and Jose Threeorfour? |

Can't completely diss Carey Price... the kid played amazing for team Canada in his juniors and did fairly well the first year on the Canadians. Unfortunately he's caught a few bad breaks. He played exceptional against the Leafs in their first game.
But I agree, the other ones aren't the greatest Send me to the guy who has coached Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo or Marc-Andre Fleury, then we'll talk. |

Chris Osgood and Jose Theodore are not "GREAT" NHL goalies, but you've got to be amazing to make the big show. The worst goal tender ever to play in the NHL would blow your mind if you were playing against him.
We as fans forget we're horrible hockey players when we look at these stars. We are quite judgmental of their ability when we have almost zero in comparison, it's quite sad really.
He also worked with Kirk MacLean, Damien Rodes, Felix Potvin, Bill Ranford, Peter Skudra, Artrus Irbe.. sure they're not all top NHL goalies, but it's still a privilege to work with these NHL calibre goalies over the last 17 years.
Luongo has even came out and taught at his school. |

Actually I played against Joey MacDonald now of the New York Islanders and I wasn't supremely impressed with his abilities.
But I do understand the basic point. |

Obviously, but if we weren't allowed to judge the NHLers compared to each other, then there would be no fun
Think of half the people on sports shows who have never played NHL hockey. You don't need to be pro to know the game like one. (And definitely not implying I do by that) |

Most commentators have some kind of background in hockey. Even that annoying bald little dweeb Darren Pang was a pro goalie for all of about 2 months. |

Most, yes. But there are a select few who know the game inside and out yet never played in the NHL. I'm not fighting the point, I just think that there would be virtually no debate about which team is best if only ex-NHLers were allowed to comment on it |
