So.. I'm going to add a video to this message later. I lost it on a guy tonight, he came at me 3 strides, and wound up and cross checked me. The video clearly shows him wind up, and you can even hear him grunt when he hits me.
I immediately saw red, chased him to the boards and blockered him in the cage.
Match Penalty.
I'm looking at 3 games to the rest of the season. Today was game one.

| Wow that sucks man... did he get anything on the play? That's definitely goalie interference at a minimum, should be even a 5 minute major of some sort (leading to a suspension). |

....I was at first going to say its clearly not a big deal, guy cant skate and just ran into you. But I watched it back a few times. Yes he can not skate, but he did mix it up with a guy just before and as you see him come in he does punch you with his right hand...for that he deserved it.

You clearly can see him wind up and hit, plus if you listen close you can even hear him grunt as he does it. (the youtube audio is a little out of sync). I've been run in to lots, I'm usually fine with it. I usually let my guys deal with it. But he hit me pretty hard, and I could feel the way he hit me was intentional wind up. It's wasn't a punch it was a cross check, I got both hands and stick on me.  |

| That guy CLEARLY took a run right at you. You can see him turn and take three steps then throw a punch...when the hell did Sean Avery start playing in your league? That should've been a suspension for him...and you should've beat the crap out of the ref for tossing you. |

| A dirty shot to be sure, but did it really hurt that much? I generally don't put up with any crap myself, but I follow the advice of one of my coaches from long ago: for goalies, revenge is a dish best served cold. It may take a few games or even all season, but sooner or later those guys will venture into my crease, and when they do... |

have you showed the video to the person/people that run(s) the league? Might have an impact on your own suspension, and possibly get the other guy a more severe penalty, which he clearly deserves

The guy deserved no suspension.
I have missed one game so far, and still have not been given the length of my suspension.
I talked to the league guy, he said he'd tell me early this week. Which probably means Tuesday. He stated I should get 10 games, but joked around with me, and sounds like it's going to be a lot less. Thank fully.
I'll find out more.

When I was talking to the guy he wasn't impressed that I took video.  I didn't show him the video cause they can't view youtube at their rink. I could put i on my USB key and drop it off to him though.

i've never understood that. if there was ever a problem in my old league that i didnt get to see, i would have loved to see video of it. a league never wants to undermine it's officiating, but at the same time, they wont see everything or get everything.
it didn't look to me like the guy in quesiton was vicious about it, just that he didnt know that he cant do what he was doing (running around randomly cross checking people, especially the goalie) on the video. i would've given him a simple 1 game suspension, said "you can't do that, it didnt look like you were brutal about it, but the goalie is vulnerable and he has to be protected more so than other positions" and i probably would've given you a 2 or 3 game suspension (hard to tell since i didn't anything after you started to go after him)
