I think you should get some wood. Like Mont said, a 5030 is a good choice. _________________

| i'd say the sherwood 5030 also... the 5030's are nice, i have a player's stick which is impossibly light for wood |

I do!!!
I've got a $19.99 Sherwood stick, and I let just as many pucks in as with any other stick, so I guess it probably don't matter with me... lol _________________ GO LEAFS GO!!! |

I've been using one for the last three and a half seasons. It looks like it's been through a mulcher, but won't break. Play both inline and ice with it. Love it. 27" Thibault curve. Makes my identical 9950 stick feel like a battle axe. |

not even sure what model i use, just know its a sherwood , it says SWD on paddle lol.... but the last stick i used was the last time i played hockey almost 6 years ago.. old school louisville stick, black stick with white TPS on paddle.... ya and i got experience on curtis curve ya ya ya and some other old wood sticks.... this new sherwood stick, i must say i love it, got it from don simmons, it has the thiebault (sp?) curve? or model? not sure. only thing is i gotta nice little chunck outa the paddle that measures about two inches in lengeth and is about one third inch in.... but i practice 3 1/2 hours a week and two 60 mins. games a weekend and have had this stick since september of 08..... so far i like it alot!
sorry i dont use paragraphs.. sorry guys... but i must say at the same time i want to try a wood again since thats all i'v used since i quit playing 5 years ago.. i like the weight of this composite stick but not sure about firing it up the boards/passing , kinda wanna try a woodie agian and make my decision |

| I've been on ice again for about 3 months now and I'm still using my original Rbk PII. It's light as hell, and I've taken some rippers to it with no serious damage. I've had players skate over it, I've skated over it, I've hit the post about 10 times with it (not hard, not pullin a hextall here, just happened to hit as I turned to make a last dive for the puck) and it doesn't give out mile long rebounds...in fact it seems to soak them up pretty well. Granted I don't play 6x a week, just 3. But I play 2 hours steady 3x a week facing everything from 90mph slapshots to quick wristers right in front. They're at least worth a look. |

The 5030 is definitely a good choice. It's got the wooden shaft with the foam and fiberglass paddle. They have great balance as well as being very light and durable. _________________

Yeah, forgot to put in that paragraph that my backup is a 5030 and always has been...they're very reliable and cheap. |

I play twice a week with mid level players, some good shots, most average. I usually get 2 seasons out of my 5030s. _________________

| They're admittedly good sticks. But the PIIs feel better for some reason so I just keep the 5030 as a backup. They last forever though. |

I've got two of these sticks at home (picked them up on sale at my local store) -- been using one for about half a season now, and the other one is actually still sitting by my front door with the price tag on it. I made the switch in the summer to a composite stick after using an old Bauer stick for the last few years. The weight difference was instantly noticeable.
The RM9 has quite a few dings and what not from pucks and skates (from goalmouth scrambles and the like), but it's still in awesome shape. I love it. I've got the same model that someone else in here mentioned -- the 27" paddle with the Thibault curve. Great stick IMO. _________________ <Helmet: Olie>

| If you use a 25" paddle then yeah, seems like a good deal to me since usually I pick my 5030s up for about 50 a piece. |

can someone explain to me if this is a good deal and what the site is saying? do the sticks look like those in the picture, or what?

Sherwood repainted some of their their leftover 9950s from last year and sold them to Goalie Monkey as 5030s. This actually happened with RBK after they transitioned from the Koho name. I saw several pro return Fleury sticks where you could clearly see the outline of the Koho logo underneath.
The sticks will be as pictured. |
