I was always told the reason why goalies skate in place in the crease during warm ups was to create ice shavings to slow the puck down, but I watched this goalie training vid a while ago and it said to clear the shavings away so the skates can slide easier. does anyone know which is the right thing to do?

whatever is best for you.
try both.

i clear the shavings out because they annoy me, and I like making 2d snowmen with them all.

amen to that. I prefer to build minature castles/houses though. Especially in tournaments when I only get like 2 shots... Laughing
