I have the biggest tryout of my life coming up in less than two weeks and i havent had ice time since my team lost our championship back in july. Occasionaly i work out but i dont get ice time since im not on any teams yet. Any tips on what i can do to make shure i dont look like crap in two weeks?

Get on craigslist and find some ice time. |

No, but people post ice times, and often need goalies etc.
So there may be an ice time out there for you. |

Man, don't be rude. If you need ice-time, go out and PAY for it. Any rink will sell you ice time. You say it's the BIGGEST try-out of your life? Then spend everything you HAVE on getting ice time to train your a$$ off! And look up 'off-ice' training stuff. Work your a$$ out, don't browse goalie forums for people to tell you 'you're screwed' when you already know it. Go do squats, sprints in a field, lunges, and then when you're finished, get your butt in a rink!

Obviously you shouldn't be on this forum if you can't take a joke  And don't expect the grammar freak (uhh... that's me in case you haven't noticed) not to jump all over that.
And I'm 100% agreed with what ebywyld said. If it matters that much, you'll be willing to put forth the money. Pay to go to a private instructor or artificial ice. And you said "occasionally" you work out. Don't call this the biggest try out of your life and then complain you're screwed if you're not putting forth a true effort. IMO, you don't seem like the kind of kid I'd want on the team. |

It's hard to be sympathetic at all after reading you OP over again. How long have you known about the "biggest tryout of my life"? Dude, it's way less then two weeks away now and I can imagine that you've known about it for awhile, but still "Occasionally" you work out. What's up with that? If I had the biggest tryout of my life coming up, I would have been working out everyday since I found out about it and if I couldn't find ice time, I'd grab a tennis ball and some sticks and get the neighborhood kids to shoot the ball at me for hours on end.
Get out there and do something man. It's your life, not ours. We can't make you get off the couch and work out....only you can do that. Now get your %$#^*& a$$ out there and help yourself out a little.

By the way, my Hackva helmet just got in, I'll be having to take a shot of the pad setup and put it on here this weekend.
