Practice. Break that habit by practicing it as much as possible. But dont have your glove too high, because they might shoot low glove.

Well, you are obviously playing with some good guys that, when you are down in the bfly, they can lift it and put it top shelf. The only thing that I could suggest, is just like Monty said earlier: practice positioning on this and also, when you are down in the bfly, try to be as tall as you can in the net. Unlike your sig picture, where you are down and hunched over. I understand that the puck was shot into your midsection, etc. but, just using that as an example. The taller you are in the net, the less they will think about going over you.

Also, how do you hold your glove? Look at your hand and picture it as a clock. Where your index finger is is the time. many goalies hold their glove at 3 O'Clock. But as a butterfly goalie, the best place to hold your hand would be either 1 or noon, because when you butterfly, and it goes up, you can just react, whereas if you butterfly and hold your glove at 3 O'Clock, you have to rotate your hand in the process of bringing it up, and that may throw off your timing.

Just little things might help Wink

One o'clock would be like 3 inches from your head

If your gloves at one oclock, the whole bottom and mid glove side would be side open. Would'nt it be best for you to have your glove some where in the middle?

I figure 12 o'clock would be in front of your face. And then one o'clock if you catch left handed would be across your face

FS, I'm pretty sure he meant as in just where your hand is, like what way it's positioned... not, "6 o'clock would be at my crotch"... I can't really explain it, but I know what he means.

I was always taught to keep the glove low and your elbow in tight against your body to seal that hole up. Reason for this, and think about this, it's alot easier and more natural to move the glove up for a glove save than move it down into the body to make a glove save. 8 out of 10 times, you are going to miss a shot with your glove sitting higher than your elbow. Just my opinion, though. Play the way you are most comfortable.

I'm not going into it again unless you guys really care to hear it, but I've explained a couple times on how the position of your glove and blocker depends on the situation

I teach my goalies to keep it higher up in most situations, easier to force the shooter to look elsewhere and try to get them to shoot lower as opposed to picking the prime area.
