You know, what I'm wondering now is... why is this titled "Good Luck!" ? You obviously want to stay here and continue arguing, whereas the title would imply you were leaving the forum...

This is where the Good Luck part comes in. as in Good luck adjusting to smaller gear when the NHL changes it again. It WILL happen.

The NHL isn't making pads any bigger these days. Thigh risers are next to go. That's not coming from me, I've heard many nhlers discussing this situation. If I still had the article of hockey news that i read it from I would scan it and post.

Last year it was the thigh boards they eliminated. Then they limited the size of pad that a goalie can wear in order to make it fit him properly. They even talk about bringing the top of the pad back to it's normal size. I'm not the only one who has a problem with this 5-hole issue.

And yes, I will notify the mods about itechwarrior.

Once again, I ask, where did I ever insult anyone? I asked 3-4 posts back and still no one has come up with any evidence where I insulted them personally.

Disagreement over opinion is hardly an insult.

Thighboards were removed long before last year, if i rememeber correctly. And wer'nt the size of goaltenders equipment reduced right after the lock out? Anyway, I do not use any + sizing on my gear. But i am still not in favour of it being removed from the rules.

It's called adaptation. It's the same thing that's been happening as evolution progresses. Things change, and people will naturally be forced to adapt. Hardly "luck" at all. You do it, or you don't continue on.

Wow, I'm impressed. What a great topic. First of all number55, I haven't seen where people have been insulting, but then again I've been down with the old H1N1 so I haven't been on for a few days. Someone not agreeing with you doesn't mean their trying to insult you, although someone going over the top with it will find their posts disappear courtesy of one of the moderators.

Anyway, so what if the NHL changes the size of their gear again. That's not going to affect my gear in the least little bit. My gear is a little off the current NHL rules anyway and none of the leagues I've played in or will play in really care.

Just to add to this, I searched back through the aforementioned "insulter" and found no posts that I would consider overly insulting. Some of them will let the poster he was replying to know in no uncertain terms that he doesn't agree with them, however, none that had any type of vulgarity or over the top insults. I guess the mods are doing their job. Wink

There was another thread that was deleted. That's where the insults came in.

It's not so much the insults in itself. It's the fact that everyone was allowed to bash me when I never once insulted any of you personally. Then when I tried to defend my opinion, the thread was deleted. Making me look like a jerk. I'm not trying to stir up trouble here. I've been a member for a long time now and why would I want to start trouble now? I'm simply trying to have my side of the story heard.

Posters use harsh words towards me with no deletions or warnings of account suspension.

I voice my opinion in a non-threatening and non-insulting manner and I'm told I'm going to be kicked? Doesn't make any sense.

A fair amount of the time they will contact us via pm and try to keep the crap off the boards. I've had PM's from Cman and Monty and even Arth before telling me to watch what I post Laughing

Cman the threads as a whole were deleted. It started with something about butterfly going out of style then became a catfight. So...deleted.

Anyways, I'm not going to bother to weigh in on this AGAIN so far as the bickering goes...what I will note is that thigh rises aren't disappearing, they're being limited, which I'm almost positive I've said before. In addition to that, we already knew about this revelation that you're swearing by because I posted a video link about the equipment director or w/e the hell he is of the NHL talking about it.

If you don't support it fine, but there's no need to try and tell others to get used to it. I'm pretty sure if we weren't able to adapt, we would be defense instead of goalers.
