SO heres my situation I'm in grade 9 and I'm trying to make the starter postion for our highschool team the one other goalie in my way is in grade 11. we are about the same skill level but I know I am faster and I know the position better also. Yesterday we had a game (exibition) and we both played half, I was the unfortunet to get the last half and I didn't play well letting in 4 goals. What can I do to get the Coaches confidents back in me and prove my dominence as starter?
Oh yeah and our home opener is in 3 days we have 2 practices before it yet if that makes a difference. |

Here are a few tips:
- Fight for every puck. Means that do not lollygag like lot of goalies do.
- Play every situation like you would be in a game. If you are doing training for technique or some special positioning stuff, etc. you may have to compromise sometimes.
- Do off ice warm up and cool down. This is something nobody does in States and coaches will notice that you are doing extra. If you want to reveal the secret warm up I have developed visit this page: http://www.icehockeygoaltending.com/goalie_zone.htm
- If there are 3 goalies or down time at practices use it to do skating drills or stretch.
- Stay patient. If you keep working hard and doing more than the other guy your time will come sooner or later.
