Here's what I use:

"Man On" - Someone is on you
"Feet" - The puck is at your feet
"In Front" - There's someone in front of the net unguarded
"Got Time" - You got time to look around with the puck

My personal favorite:

"FUCK!"

Many meanings:
1. The other team scored
2. My defense screwed up
3. My forwards screwed up
4. I made a crappy move (usually letting out a bad rebound)

and many more Very Happy

Or yet one of my personal favs ... "ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME!!!!???" which usually is a result of some serious screw ups. Mostly Defense. I loathe my defense sometimes.

I don't yell at my own players unless I think it was an effortless play or if they do something that they know they shouldn't like try to head the puck instead of letting me stop it...Which happened in Middle School Rolling Eyes

And after about mid season this year I started leaving the refs alone. After actually reffing, when kids argue with me about penalties or anything else all it does is piss me off, I'm not going to reverse the call. If a goalie argues with me about a goal and is a jerk about it and yelling at me the next time he has it covered I'm going to wait an extra couple seconds to blow the whistle. Or if a player argues a penalty, then I'll let something go for the other team or not give him the benefit of the doubt the next time. There is no reason to argue with the ref. The time I argued a penalty on the bench, I got a bench minor and made it a 5 on 3 for the other team...So coming from a ref...It is pointless

i did this one time, and i know it dosnt help anything, but everyone has that feeling inside them whenever something horrible is called, or not called, in some cases. i dont usually argue with refs. im nice to refs Very Happy . i talk to them when i give him the puck. but i dont like the bad ones, so i dont talk to them. like this one time this summer, this kid scored on me, and he went over to my teammates, and just yells, plain as day "i scored bitches" i know it isnt a BADD thing to do, but isnt swearing a misconduct, or unsportsmanlike. and the ref heard it, and our team was looking to get a power play from it. but the ref was sayin he didnt hear it, but he was right net to them taking the puck out of the net. the refs in our summer league suck. buts thats why they do summer leagues, i suppose......

I've reffed before too. So i just ask the ref questions about the call like. "Why" was it called? sorta deal. I try not to give the ref any crap. Although, in my roller hockey league (I play forward) i will flat out give them some crap if i KNOW it was a horrible call. My team gives me flack for it, but whatever, i know my rights as one of the captains of the team. But as far as ice... I'm in net most of the time, so i'll just ask simple questions and leave the refs alone for the most part, unless it's blatently obvious that it was a horrible call.

In the rule book, you're supposed to eject them for directing swears at players or anything racial like 'fag'. But no ref does it unless the game is getting out of control and they're trying to set an example so eevryone stops.

I talk to the refs, too. I've had them ref so many games of mine, I know a couple of them off the ice Laughing

The only thing I do is shoot the puck down the ice if I let in a bad goal. And I don't even do that if it's in a game that doesn't count for anything.

You pick up the puck for the ref after goal? Laughing If it isn't a bad goal I'll just skate and get water...If it is a bad goal the puck is going down the ice
