Stumbled upon this video featuring (these aren't my words) goaltending elite Olaf Kolzig facing shots from Ovie during his rookie year. They broke it down scientifically to explain something that I've always wondered about.

I remember seeing this a year ago, it's pretty neat! Smile

I've caught this show a few times and absolutely love it but don't really know for sure when or even if it's on anymore. I like the way they break down sports with high speed cameras and computer modeling to give you the most scientific look at something humans have done for centuries.

I don't know, I'm still not 100% sure of what channels we have up here in Canada.

So, I just rewatched that clip. Does Kolzig catch with his right hand or his left? Confused

Check out from 2:37 to 2:49, they've got a goalie with the same gear, but on the opposite hands.

He catches left. It's just a flip they did with the camera either for dramatic purposes or because someone in editing screwed up.

Did the big title "Sport Science" at the beginning of the clip give it away?

I thought it might be something like that. My macbook does the same whenever I use the built in camera. Confused

Nobody asked anything. I said I don't know for sure if it's on anymore and you said it's called Sports Science.

On a side note, it is still on...and an NHL enforcer hits with 1300lbs of force which is the equivalent of getting punched by a heavyweight champion.
